Performing Arts

The Reston (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated in partnership with The Washington DC Chapter of the Society, Incorporated hosts a bienniel event to showcase high school students with exceptional talent in the Arts.  For years, this event has been hosted at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.   In addition to providing the students an international stage for their performances, we have offered them mentoring and coaching by industry experts.  We also typically host a summit for the parents/family of these young people to address finacial resources available and other topical issues to support their performer beyond high school.

On April 25, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. EDT we invited parents and others to join in a frank conversation about surviving and thriving in the entertainment industry. Later that same day, we celebrated the talents and accomplishments of these young people with a live stream of their performances.  Several industry experts were on hand to assess the performances.
